JRS Signs Up

Mr Singh and his family (JRS News) were most happy this month when their Renewed Lease (for 15 years) was finally signed up.

The Singh family have long-term plans for the shop which will be completely refurbished.

This is the end of a difficult period for the family. Initially the renewal of the Lease was refused under ‘Redevelopment’ and the JQA, with the aid of the Chamber of Commerce, proved that the work to be carried out to their particular premises was only classed as ‘Refurbishment’.

The Singh family wish to express their grateful thanks to Ken Schofield and Mark Haddleton (JQA Directors) and Marie Haddleton (JQA President/Hon Sec) for their help and support and to the Hockley Flyer in publicising their ordeal.

Our picture shows Mr Singh, smiling again at last!

The Hockley Flyer magazine is entirely funded by the advertising, but could do with a little bit more funding. The advertising not only pays for the design/printing, but also postage, delivery, all the associated paperwork/accounts, and research for the Heritage section. Subscribers pay only a bit more than the postage/mailing costs, and the magazines are free - no cover price.
