West Midlands Metro services restored on Thursday 9 June. Following the successful testing of the first trams to undergo body panel replacements, tram services will resume between Wolverhampton St George’s and Birmingham Bull Street on Thursday 9th June.
The number of repaired trams, along with the new trams which have successfully completed their testing and commissioning, means that a consistent service can be delivered. Initially trams will run every 12 to 15 minutes throughout the day.
While trams have not been in service, this time has been used to bring forward several planned maintenance projects for 2022. Please be aware, there are some dates in the coming weeks where there will be changes to services to allow this work to be completed.
Working closely with the manufacturer to accelerate the repair programme and as more trams become available, the service that is provided will be reviewed.
