News from the Jewellery Museum

The Museum of The Jewellery Quarter have introduced a charging policy from 4th January. The charges are £3.50 for visitors aged 16 and over and free for 15 and under. This is for a trial period of 6 months.

Victoria Emmanuel (Curator) says: “As you will recall we used to charge admission until 2002 when there was a move to seasonal opening. When we changed back to year round opening a year later, we did not reinstitute the charges.

However, in this challenging climate, the view has been taken that since many of our visitors are tourists to the area and are quite prepared to pay an admission charge, we would reinstate it.”
