Domino, the UK fine jewellery producer, has scooped third prize in the ‘Bridal Jewellery (innovative design)’ category of the ‘ Platinum Design Awards ‘competition organised by Platinum Guild International at Baselworld 2012.
Nearly 30 manufacturers exhibiting at Baselworld took part in the competition, which was judged by a panel of 50 international journalists visiting the show. Just three of the entrants were from the UK, and Domino was the only British firm to win a prize for its ‘Flow’ collection in platinum and diamonds.
Andrew Morton, MD of Domino commented: “We are absolutely delighted to have been recognised in such an illustrious award.
Our platinum bridal ranges are an important part of our business and it is good to have acknowledgement that our designs are amongst the most innovative in Europe. It is a great tribute to our in-house design and production teams,” he said.
Morton believes that this PGI success will also help to raise further Domino’s European profile. “We have recently employed Laurent Nicollier, who will be based in France, to act as our European Sales Manager with a view to growing our business throughout the continent. Winning this Award will provide just the boost he needs,” he said.
