Praise for WB Group’s ‘Creative Suite’

The WB Group – which comprises the fine jewellery and mount producer Domino and the casting and jewellery solutions company Weston Beamor – has opened its ‘Creative Suite’, a 800 sq ft meeting room and showcase situated at its headquarters in Birmingham.

This state-of-the-art destination, which is already creating something of a stir, will provide an elegant platform for both companies and a place in which they can interact with their customers in comfort and style.

The Creative Suite has been designed in conjunction with the specialist jewellery shop-fitting company Giddings and represents a substantial investment for the Group.

A great deal of thought and effort has gone into creating exactly the right ambience and features include three separate zones: a welcoming area (with comfortable sofas and coffee tables); a display area with spectacular lighting effects and high gloss black cabinets in which to showcase the Domino range, as well as a secluded, quiet, area ideal for in-depth meetings. The whole effect is sleek yet sumptuous and very much in keeping with the mood of today’s cutting-edge retail outlets.

“Producing and retailing jewellery are two sides of the same coin,” says the Group’s Chairman, Patrick Fuller. “The relationship that both Domino and Weston Beamor are looking for with their customers is one of partnership and this new facility provides us with the perfect stage from which to engage in the type of on-going, two-way interaction we are looking for.”

In terms of design no detail has been overlooked. Open-fronted cabinets allow product to be seen and touched, while specially-designed product cupboards, containing sample designs, are mounted on wheels for easy movement and accessibility. A wall-mounted integrated media centre provides video information on the businesses and on the jewellery production process.

“Before the Creative Suite was opened our UK customers had just two chances a year at Spring Fair International and at International Jewellery London to see our whole range. Now they can view it whenever they wish, in a secure and private environment at a time to suit themselves. Because meetings are by appointment, they can be sure to have our undivided attention and all the help they need to identify those products best suited to them and their clientele.

The suite will also provide us with an opportunity to discuss with customers how we perceive global fashion trends and to present to them our seasonal display concepts. Best of all it will be somewhere where we can have the cross-fertilisation of ideas so vital to move the market forward,” says Fuller.

Commenting about the Creative Suite, James Courage of the Platinum Guild International said: “This is a very positive initiative which brings the retailer into an environment that that will undoubtedly inspire ideas and stimulate interest. It is also a perfect showcase for the company’s wide range of designs. We at PGI were particularly pleased to see a number of showcases devoted solely to Domino’s comprehensive platinum collection which I know accounts for a high proportion of their sales.”

Visitors who attended two ‘Open Days’ at the Group’s headquarters in Birmingham on 13th and 14th April agreed. “It’s just fabulous,” enthused Stephen Pyke of William Pyke & Sons one of the most long established family jewellers in the North West of England with branches in Liverpool, Chester, Birkenhead, Shrewsbury and Newcastle-under-Lyme. “The use of colours and textures creates a relaxing environment with no distractions. I also liked the eye-catching colours used in the product displays.” he said.

“The Creative Suite is stunning. It’s very forward thinking and conceptually brilliant. The colour scheme is fantastic too,” said Frank Wood, the current chairman of the National Association of Goldsmiths and a director of R A Braithwaite Jewellers of York.

“Wow!” was the first comment from Keith White, Managing Director of Michael Spiers, an independent jeweller with branches in the South West. “It’s a wonderful concept and extremely innovative. I’m confident that it will be a great success and am personally much looking forward to coming here and using it,” he said.

Existing customers of The WB Group wishing to visit The Creative Jewellery Suite should contact their own area sales representative to make an appointment. New customers should telephone the group’s head office in Birmingham on 0121 236 3688.
