SafeGuard at London Jewellery Week

The Birmingham Assay Office celebrated the first London Jewellery Week with a successful educational Event at Goldsmiths’ Canary Wharf store.

The day was all about consumer information, advice, and education, provided completely free of charge by SafeGuard, the jewellery valuation division of The Birmingham Assay Office.

Customers of the Goldsmiths’ Canary Wharf store were invited to bring in any watches or items of jewellery or silver which they wanted to learn more about, whether in terms of their provenance, their value, or their manufacture.

Senior SafeGuard Valuer Phil Withington was on hand to explain the information included in the Hallmark, the qualities of gemstones and diamonds and the skill and craftsmanship involved in the production of each piece. Customers were also advised of the best way to care for their jewellery.

It was a busy day for Phil and SafeGuard Marketing Co-ordinator Kelly Fisher and they both really enjoyed it.

The advertising not only pays for the design/printing, but also postage, delivery, all the associated paperwork/accounts, and research for the Heritage section. Our subscribers pay only a bit more then the postage/mailing costs, and the magazines are free - no cover price.
