The end of July saw the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) staff, NAJ members and colleagues from the British Allied Trades Federation (BATF) grab their paddles to help raise significant funds for The Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.
The 19-person strong team came together to participate in the annual Birmingham Dragon Boat Race to raise much-needed money for the local children’s hospital. The team, comprised of NAJ staff and NAJ members, as well as support from both the BATF and Giftware Association, contested in three heats through the canals of Birmingham city.
Thanks to the generous support of the NAJ membership, the team raised more than £9,000 on the day, adding to the impressive £259,000 total raised across the event.
Representatives from Sonny’s Jewellers, JQ Diamond, Hockley Mint, TH March, Titcombe Bespoke, J Brookes Design and Paycare helped ensure significant money was raised on the day, and a competitive time was recorded in the boat.
Ben Massey, NAJ CEO, shared, “Thank you so much to the NAJ members who supported such a crucial charity. We are so grateful to the members who joined us in the dragon boat and the many who charitably donated money. Once again, the event showcased the jewellery industry’s remarkable generosity.”
There is still time to donate and support the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.
