The Birmingham Assay Office’s strong links with the Birmingham School of Jewellery have been cemented further as plans for a Student Mentoring Programme are due to be launched.
The programme of support, which will be open to students studying for an MA in Jewellery and Silversmithing, will see The Birmingham Assay Office offering a wide range of support including expertise and advice covering sales and marketing, web design, gemmological knowledge, technical knowledge and other areas of specific interest to the students who are successful in the selection process.
MA Course Director, Professor Jivan Astfalck said: “We are grateful for the support which The Birmingham Assay Office has provided the MA Course over the last three years and are looking forward to launching the Mentoring Programme which will provide invaluable advice to the students who are successful in being accepted onto the programme.”
