The Friends have been busy with Clean Up day in Key Hill Cemetery on Saturday 2 June during Volunteers Week.
Despite this event being widely advertised, unfortunately this was poorly attended. Those that did attend did not live locally, with one lady travelling from Walsall, even though she didn’t know any of the Friends.
It was a hot humid day, but this did not stop the volunteers working hard making a difference to this dappled historic cemetery.
On Sunday 3 June the Friends had a stall at the Birmingham Live History Fair at Safeside in Vauxhall Road, Birmingham. The Friends were able to assist the public with the section and plot numbers of their family and ancestors’ graves.

Music Quiz night Autumn 2018
Author Keith Rowbottom has volunteered to hold a music quiz night to raise fund for the Friends.
We are currently looking for local venue with a bar that will hold 50 to a 100 people. The tickets to attend will be £5.00 each. We are also hoping that local people and business’s will be able to donate gifts for the raffle. All proceeds from tours sales, membership and donations go towards the restoration of headstones.
The Friends are the only group to maintain the Cemeteries and raise funds for restorations.
