Time for a Parking Review?

It must be time for a Parking Review of the Jewellery Quarter with all the thousands of new residential units and restaurants etc and what about the special concessions such as spaces in Warstone Lane for the Police (no station there any more); and concessions in Loading Bay outside the Natwest in Frederick Street for people visiting the bank/TAM (bank now closed).

At the last Review it was agreed that a reduced rate would be charged in the Vyse Street Car Park for workers in the area to help compensate for the loss of on-street parking due to the introduction of Parking Permits and that the Parking Permits would be restricted by an agreed percentage shared between residents/businesses. The responsibility for Permit Parking was handed over almost immediately to a private company and one wonders if they stick to this percentage?

The Hockley Flyer magazine if entirely funded by the advertising, but we could always do with a little bit more funding. The advertising not only pays for the design/printing, but also postage, delivery, all the associated paperwork/accounts, and research for the Heritage section. Our subscribers pay only a bit more then the postage/mailing costs, and the magazines are free - no cover price.
