TSB Makes Space Available for Businesses in Birmingham

TSB is piloting a new initiative to support the local community in Birmingham. The Bank will offer a dedicated meeting space in the branch that local businesses and customers of TSB can book and use free of charge.

The space can be used for a range of different activities. For example, small or start-up businesses, which are often home-run, will be able to hold meetings in a business environment. Clubs, charities, or societies can benefit from hosting meetings in a central location with good public transport links.

This space may also be used by local associations such as Social Enterprise Groups and community groups.

The pilot will be testing a range of options to understand how the space is benefitting customers and the communities TSB serves with a view to understanding which initiatives customers would rolled-out more broadly across Britain.

Birmingham is one of several branches that will be used to pilot the branch space initiative. The room is available for hourly slots by contacting the branch. The branch manager is Andrew Plant and can be contacted on 07976 523541. Alternatively, customers can enquire directly in branch. TSB is the only bank to offer this service to their customers and small businesses.

Andrew Plant, Manager of Great Hampton Street Birmingham Branch, says, “We are delighted that our branch is one of the first to be offering space for customers to use as we are really passionate about serving the local community. We have already heard from several customers who are hoping to use the space and we are looking forward to welcoming them to our branch.”

Peter Navin, Managing Director Branch and Business Banking, TSB says: “This initiative is just one of the ways TSB is looking to bring local banking back to Britain. For us, local banking means supporting the customers and communities which we serve and fuelling local economies.”
