On 8th October six fire crews (30 fire-fighters) dealt with a blaze at Cooksons Precious Metals in Vittoria Street.
Fortunately no-one was trapped in the building and no casualties were reported but Paramedics and West Midlands Ambulance Service’s Hazardous Area Response Team were quickly on the scene.
Workers were evacuated from the building because of the possible danger from gas cylinders.
The fire was thought to have started in a dust extraction unit.
