The HKTDC Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair is the world’s largest event of its kind and has proved itself year after year to be an effective business platform for the global timepiece industry. It will return on September 3-7 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre for its 33rd edition and expected to gather 760 exhibitors from around the world.
Together with the ‘Salon de TE’, a premium event that focuses on top-end brands and designer collections, the synergy effect will bring multiple benefits for both exhibitors and buyers to provide myriad opportunities for new businesses.
‘Salon de TE’ embraces 4 thematic zones
Branding is a rising trend and branded items are gaining wide popularity in the Chinese mainland and other Asian markets. ‘Salon de TE’, which made its debut in 2013, featured over 140 international brands from 18 countries and regions, will return to cater to this surging demand by providing a platform for luxury watch brands to convey their messages. It recognises different categories within the watch market through the creation of different areas, thus allowing buyers to identify their desired products.
A focal point of ‘Salon de TE’ is ‘World Brand Piazza’, featuring limited-edition and rare masterpieces from prestigious watch brands brought by Prince Jewellery and Watch Company; participating brands in 2013 were Audemars Piguet, Blancpain, Breguet, Chopard, FRANCK MULLER, Glashütte Original, H. Moser, Hublot, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Piaget, Ulysse Nardin and Zenith.
‘Renaissance Moment’, turns the spotlight on classic and elegant watches originated in Europe, will attract brands such as Blauling (Switzerland), Cobra Paris (France) and Royal London (UK) in 2014.
‘Craft Treasure’ is a showcase for top functional mechanical watches that incorporate the fine movements, along with exquisite jewellery watches Buyers can expect to see exquisite watches from renowned market players like Longio (Chinese mainland), Memorigin (Hong Kong), Seagull (Chinese mainland) and Valentinian (Hong Kong), etc.
‘Chic & Trendy’ focuses on stylish, on-trend and fashion label watches, exhibiting brands will include Arbutus (USA), Romago (Switzerland) and Temporis (Hong Kong).
Pageant of Eternity – Zone of Excellence
‘Pageant of Eternity’ is another premium zone at the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair for complete watches, dedicated to custom-built participants of truly outstanding timepieces. The elegant and sophisticated surroundings of this zone complement the quality of these high-end watches and clocks.
Other major categories at the watch fair include complete watches, clocks, machinery & equipment, packaging, parts & components and trade services.
Good opportunity for information exchange
The show encompasses a number of important events. Watch parades take place regularly throughout the show period, displaying collections and demonstrating upcoming trends. The Product Demo & Launch Pad allows exhibitors to bring their latest products to the attention of visitors in an interactive environment.
It is also a place for experts gathering updated trend and information. Heavyweight speaker will be invited to the ‘Asian Watch Conference’ to speak on building a successful brand in Asia. The ‘Hong Kong International Watch Forum’ will bring together international experts in the industry and tackles key issues in an interactive atmosphere. A programme of seminars will also put the focus on current market and technology trends.
Networking events such as various cocktail parties will bring industry players together and provide opportunities for forging and strengthening relationships.
Also, to nurture the design talents, HKTDC join hands again with Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association Ltd. and The Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades & Industries Ltd. to organise the ‘31st Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition’. It is themed as ‘Time Controls World’ and ‘Smart World’ for the open and student group respectively.
Open House on the last day
‘Salon de TE’ will open to the general public on the last day (September 7). There will be product launches, celebrity talks, and retail sales. Visitors can enjoy the prestige of getting first-release information and previews of new products.
The HKTDC Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair was attended by more than 750 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions and attracted close to 19,000 buyers from 94 countries and regions in 2013.
